The Shiva Short Sleeve Cotton Patchwork Shirt is part of something we’ve been creating slowly and with care; one of the first four pieces under our own New Age Markets brand and part of the ‘With Love, From Nepal’ collection.
Each shirt is handcrafted in Nepal from around 80 individual squares of 100% cotton. No two pieces are exactly the same. Every square is chosen, cut, and sewn by hand, so each shirt carries its own quiet irregularities and character, curated by human hands.
Once assembled, each garment is then dyed in a soft, layered blue. The result isn’t a flat colour, but something more bespoke; slightly varied, developing in its own way dependant on the fabric and stitch work underneath.
The inspiration for the colour story in this piece comes from the Eucalyptus tree and its grounded, earthy presence. Combined with the blue haze that settles over the beautiful Blue Mountains where we are based, the Shiva Shirt’s hues become a meeting point between soil and sky.
The Shiva Shirt is designed to be lived in. Over time, the fabric and dye is designed to soften and gently fade with wear, developing a natural, vintage character that reflects the life of the person wearing it. This piece will be a staple in your wardrobe years to come.
